Get our immersive online course: 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga and learn how to live a more purposeful and meaningful life.

Yoga is more than just a physical practice. It's a path of life.

When we think of yoga, we normally only think about the physical practice. However, yoga is much more than that, it's a way of living.

This course is about exposing you to a wider perspective of yoga as we learn more about the philosophy and how this information can be applied in to our daily lives.

The 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga come from the "Yoga Sutras" and they contain guidelines to live a purposeful and meaningful life.

These guidelines have the intention of helping us understand the roots of our own suffering and take the steps and make the changes necessary to go beyond that.

Learning about the philosophy behind the practice will give you a toolkit for how to navigate the uncertainty and chaos of life, the courage to live more simply, and insights that will benefit you and those around you.

8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga for a Simple Life

By Bodhi Surf + Yoga

This program is an 8-part course based around the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga:

Get a timeline and a context to how and where the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga came from. As this is not a course that focuses solely on the history of yoga, here we are attempting to provide a simple explanation to a very complex theme of how this information came about and why this subject is relevant to the yoga practice.

Better than restrictions or moral imperatives, the Yamas are recommendations on how we can interact better and do well in the world and at the same time find a sense of wellbeing within us by doing so.

The Niyamas are internal observances and a great complement for the first limb, the Yamas. With the Niyamas, we move from how we treat others to how we treat ourselves.

This lesson provides an exploration of the purpose and reasons of why and how postural yoga (Asana practice) is an important component on the path of yoga. We will also explore how it developed and the intention behind the practice.

Pranayama, can be translated as techniques to gain breath control. Here we explore the more energetic and intangible aspects of the practice of yoga before we move into different levels of meditation.

In this lesson, we cover different levels of meditation. Many students perceive meditation as an intimidating, frustrating, or even boring process. But this subject can be quite interesting, challenging and profound all at the same time. Practicing meditation during our daily lives can improve how we navigate our daily lives.
