Don't just get get pushed into waves. Catch them.
Countless of our students at Bodhi Surf + Yoga come to us with the same story. "I've taken a few first surf lessons, gotten pushed into waves, but I've never learned how to catch waves myself."
Learning to surf can be hard. You take first lesson after first lesson after first lesson, but you never really get to the next level where you can go out and surf on your own.
This, is because most surf instructors aren't teaching you the right foundation. They'll mostly just push you into waves, wanting to make sure you have a good time out in the water.
Who can blame them.

However, this isn't what will help you to become a confident, autonomous surfer. To where, you don't need to be pushed into waves, but rather you understand the ocean, feel confident in yourself, and can read and catch waves on your own.
That's what we want for you here at Bodhi Surf + Yoga, and that's what we've taught over a 1,000 new surfers already over a decade-how to build your confidence in the water and "awaken your inner surfer."
We structure our surf lesson methodology using four distinct stages, or what we call "waves," and that's what you'll master with this guide here.
